What a weekend!

I had the pleasure of photographing some amazing women and their families this weekend. Both are strong and amazing to me. This is the part that I love most about what I do is getting to know the families a little bit better. I get a couple hours where I get to see the love they share and the connection that they have between each other. I am definitely not a writer and never can seem to express how each and every person that lets me take their pictures is truly an honor. I love every minute.

These are just a few because it is late and I am tired but I can't sleep until I make sure that I have what I want. It is such a comfort!

Sometimes I forget!!

Never thought old bottles could be so pretty.

Some of my favorite things are old windows and doors.

Sometimes I forget why I started taking pictures. I used to carry my camera everywhere and take pictures of everything I saw. That slowed down when I started taking pictures of people. So today I did it. I took my camera with me to one of my favorite haunts and I just started snapping. It felt good. I remember what it feels like to see something and want to capture how it feels to me. So indulge me why I show my random shots of the day!!

The day is growing shorter and the light is getting less and less crisp. I love this time of year but it also makes me a little lethargic. Not so eager to do the house cleaning or garden or clean out closets. This year I promised myself that I will keep up the photography even when the months are quiet with people wanting me to shoot them. I can learn so much during this time.

It takes me forever!!!

Happy Fall everyone!!
I cannot believe it is that time of year again.
I am such a terrible procrastinator!! I go in spurts. I do a lot of editing in one night and then I have to take a break and do something different because it can drive you insane. The kids also expect diner once in a while as well. I have to say I have really enjoyed the sessions I have been having lately. Having such beautiful people to work with really helps. I wanted to get up the two sessions I did this weekend for a little sneak peak for the families. I have got to say I love when people are willing to use "the couch" it never gets old for me and it is always new to someone else.

I have taken Daniel's family pictures before and I will have to say that he is one of my favorites to work with. He is one of the calmest people I have ever met. He puts me at ease every time I take his pictures. His senior pictures are no exception. He just is wonderful to work with.

I have so much more to post like I have actually taken some pictures of my own children. Can't wait to finish those. I am also very excited to be traveling to California in October to be taking some fun pictures of a high school reunion. Makes it even more fun to be traveling to new places doing what I love.

I love me some babies!

I will say the most challenging thing I have ever done still is take pictures of newborns. You would think that it would not be that hard but it is. I will say I love this hat and have used it on everyone I know. I also bought this new fuzzy blanket and love it! I love etsy!!! I did not think that I would love these pictures as much as I do but this little girl just made such wonderful pictures!

This week has been a very challenging one! A lot of ups and downs in my life and I hope to start off next week with a brand new attitude. Life throws some weird things at you and it really defines your character as to how you are going to handle them.

Just FYI my very funny friend Adam has volunteered after some coaxing to help me design a web site. I am very excited about that! It will just be a new avenue for me and I am always interested to see where new things lead me.

I will have to say that in the last couple of months I have taken some awesome people's pictures. I just wanted to give an example of some of my favorites!

Where does the time go!

All of sudden fall is here and I don't know where the summer went! My kids are in school and I really do enjoy spending the time with Jaden. He starts school next week and I think he is definitely ready! The weeks have definitely been busy and we have been blessed to have wonderful people come and stay for visits. We would enjoy anyone else who like to come also.
So I had my first shot in the dark this week. I have never tried to do creative things with newborns and it did not go quite as planned. I actually dyed the baby's skin orange. (don't even ask) I am actually nervous to give the mom the shots!

Boy this was a beautiful baby! I hope that I get to keep practicing my skills with these cute little ones. I have so much still to learn!

I just recently took to the park to take these pictures of this adorable little girl. I think her parents were nervous at first at how she would sit and look pretty. Instead I let her run around and try to grab as many as I could. The parents were really great and I think that we all had a good time. Here is a little sneak peek for the parents. I was so excited about these that I took a few moments to process some really quickly.

I hope everyone has a great labor day !
